The President of Iran is Ebrahim Raisi right now.
Iran’s hardline judiciary chief won a landslide victory on June 19, 2021 in the country’s presidential election, a vote that both propelled the supreme leader’s protege into Tehran’s highest civilian position and saw the lowest turnout in the Islamic Republic’s history.

Raisi has served in several position in Iran’s judicial system, such as Deputy Chief Justice (2004-2014) Attorney General (2014-2018) and Chief Justice (2019-present). He was also Prosecutor and Deputy Prosecutor of Tehran in 1980s and 1990s.

He was elected President with just 62 per cent of the vote. In second place by a wide margin was ultra conservative Mohsen Resai, a former commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who bagged 11·8 per cent votes Mr. Raisi will be inaugurated in August 2021.

In a statement following his victory, Mr. Raisi promised to strengthen public trust in the government and be a leader for the entire nation. “I will form a hardworking revolutionary and anti-corruption government, state media quoted him as saying.”
