A Visit to A Zoo Essay

A Zoo is a place where animals and birds are kept for a look by the common people. Last month on Sunday I visited Delhi zoo to see the animals and birds. It is one of the largest Zoos in India. It is situated near the old fort. Thousands of people and children come here every day.

There are many animals and birds, which come from different countries of the world. We saw there beautiful birds with multi-colored feathers such as pelicans, Siberian crane, peacocks, peahens, sparrows, Nightingales, Kingfishers, etc. We saw the cranes, storks, ducks and swans swimming in the pond. It saw a lovely golden fish swimming in the water. We saw various kinds of monkeys, gorillas and baboons. I saw my favourite animals, like tigers, lions, leopard and cheetah. There were also many rhinoceros, elephants, giraffe, hippopotamus and crocodiles in the zoo.

Stags, deers, hares, antelopes and rabbits attracted me very much. The most interesting was the playful chimpanzees. They were showing many tricks and we all enjoyed their acrobatics. The environment of the zoo created is just like the forest we visualize to be where the lion is supposed to live. This area shows us a very clear picture of what a forest is and we also find it very easy to understand the living condition of a lion in the jungle.

Having seen the zoo, we felt tired and hungry. We moved to a confectioner shop close to the zoo and took some fast food and sweats. After sometimes, we returned to our school. We thanked our teacher for such an enjoyable trip. We got a great knowledge of animals as birds from the zoo. I saw some animals for the first time, which I had seen earlier only in pictures. A zoo helps us to learn so much without visiting the natural habitats of animals and birds. Besides all, I made a lot of fun with my classmates on the bus.
