Incorrect :
He dead. Correct :
Note : Dead adjective है, died verb ‘to die’ का past simple या past participle रूप है।

Incorrect :
I have a toothache, so I can’t eat something. Correct :
I have any books. Correct :
He hasn’t some pens. Correct :
Have you some sugar ? Correct :
Note : Some का प्रयोग अक्सर affirmative sentences में तथा any का negative sentences तथा questions में होता है।

Incorrect :
I am the younger in the family. Correct :
Your accent is worst than mine. Correct :
This one is worst than that one. Correct :
Which is the better of the three methods? Correct :
Note : दो व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं में तुलना के लिए comparative degree तथा तीन या उससे अधिक व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं में सबसे अच्छा/बुरा का बोध कराने के लिए superlative degree का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Incorrect :
The weather is warmer as last week. Correct :
Rekha is taller from her sister. Correct :
Note : Comparative degree में than का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Incorrect :
My boy-friend is very older than me. Correct :
You are far much tolerant than I am. Correct :
Note : Very का प्रयोग comparatives में नहीं होता है, उसके बदले much या far का प्रयोग किया जाता है। Very much, a lot, lots, any, no, rather, a little, a bit कुछ अन्य शब्द हैं जिनका प्रयोग comparatives में होता है–
Very much nicer
a lot happier rather more quickly.
A bit easier
a little less expensive.
Things are no better than before.

Incorrect :
This is more safer place. Correct :
The most busiest hour is 10 o’clock. Correct :
Note : Double comparative (= more, safer) या double superlative (= most, busiest) का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता।

Incorrect :
This photograph is the best of the two. Correct :
Tom is the tallest of the two boys. Correct :
Note : जहाँ दो व्यक्ति/वस्तु का बोध कराना हो, comparative degree का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Incorrect :
This little girl is better than clever. Correct :
Note : यदि किसी एक ही व्यक्ति/वस्तु के दो गुणों की तुलना की जाती है तो more का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Incorrect :
I saw a most unique sight. Correct :
Is there anything more eternal ? Correct :
I found that dog more dead. Correct :
Note : Unique, eternal, round, dead, triangular, golden, entire, chief, dumb, free, blind, universal, ideal, weekly, monthly आदि adjectives का प्रयोग comparatives या superlatives में नहीं किया जाता।

Incorrect :
He is more inferior than me. Correct :
You are the most superior of all. Correct :
I am senior than you. Correct :
Note : Inferior, superior, senior, junior, anterior, posterior के पहले more/most नहीं लगाया जाता और न उसके बाद than लगता है; than की जगह to का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Incorrect :
My brother hasn’t much book. Correct :
Is there many sugar in the bottle ? Correct :
Note : Much (बहुत) से मात्रा का बोध होता है; many (बहुत) से संख्या का।

Incorrect :
He is the tallest boy of the school. Correct :
It is the most expensive car of the world. Correct :
Note : After superlative, we use in (or other prepositions) to show what place we are talking about.
It’s the most expensive car in the world.
I’m the happiest girl under the sun.

Incorrect :
It is best book I have ever read. Correct :
He is fastest runner here. Correct :
Note : (i) Superlatives के पहले the अवश्य लगता है।
