Guru Nanak
: The founder of the Sikh religion, was born in 1469 in a Khatri family of Talwandi (modern Nan-kana) near Lahore. He preached the unity of Godhead and formalism of religion. His sayings and sacred songs composed by him from the sacred book of the Sikhs and is known as the Granth Sahib. He died in 1539.
